For the project ‘Tile trails’ Karl has created his own version of ‘antrophomorphic tile’, counterpart to animalistic, floral and geometric designs which were commonly used in tile history. Taking humans as a formative element of a pattern is a possible prelude to new designs to come. His claustrophobic vision is almost a premonition of many sombre and challenging situations humans face in our modern, technological age.
